Artists often apply the “Rule of Three” to their creations. This wall hanging carries that principle to the extreme: three moon panels, three moons in each panel; three different foreground prints; and a ratio of 1 to 3 for the division in the smaller moon panel. Created in a class taught by Judy Farrow, each of the moon blocks is machined appliqued, and the other free-form curved portions are machine pieced. A Lonnie Rossi fabric panel stamped with gold ginkgo leaves and a wide black border complete the wall hanging.
