Judy placed traditional hidden stars blocks in a somewhat contemporary setting to create this quilt, a favorite in her home at Christmas time.   Although tempted to follow the expected color and design symmetries, she broke from her “mathematical” leanings and made a conscious effort to vary from those patterns - hence the title “Fractured Symmetries/Hidden Stars”.  A big thanks and warm appreciation goes to Joanne Myers, an award-winning quilt artist and teacher whose original Hidden Stars quilt inspired this creation and who graciously mentored the completion of the project.
